Hunting red stag is one of our favorite things to do in the world. These beautiful animals will give you a tough but extremely rewarding hunt when you are successful. The rut—known as “The Roar”—runs from mid-September through December, offering hunters an adrenaline-filled experience as bulls fight for control and chase hinds across the ranch.

Trophy & Management Red Stag Hunts
We offer both trophy and management red stag hunts at SMBC Ranch. Our ranch is home to some of the highest-quality trophy red stags in Oklahoma, carefully selected and managed to maintain excellent genetics. If you are looking to hunt a true monster red stag, this is the place to do it.
That said, part of our management program for maintaining quality trophy genetics includes removing stags with inferior genetics. Our management hunts offer you the opportunity to participate in this program and enjoy a red stag hunt at a discounted price. Management stags at SMBC are by no means "dinks" - they can range in size and shape, and often, they are simply beautiful stags that don't have the crown characteristics that we want.
